Underworld actress Kate Beckinsale has revealed how she has become an embarrassing mother to her daughter Lily. Kate, who had Lily with her former partner Michael Sheen, admitted to The Telegraph that she tries to be hip and cool but never manages to pull it off.
Beckinsale explained, "She's become a teenager so all of a sudden I became a whole lot more embarrassing than I'd ever been in the past. I do have a tendency to be that sort of awful mother who thinks she's really hip so right now I have to give her space and realise that as far as she's concerned, I am really not cool."
She added, "We've got a kind of unconventional family situation, with two dads, and I've always been the constant parent, the one who is here. So if anything ripples the water, then it's important to be home.”
Kate continued, "My daughter is about to be 13, and I realise how fleeting time is. I was happy to be around Lily to talk about her day when she got home."
Kate Beckinsale can next be seen on the big screen, starring alongside Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel, in the remake of the movie Total Recall, which is set to be released in the US on August 3 and in the UK on August 22.
