How I Met Your Mother actor Josh Radnor has revealed what he would like to see when the mother is finally revealed. Josh stated that he does not want the How I Met Your Mother execs to go for a big name star just to boost the ratings and would rather it be someone that has not yet been in the show.
Radnor told Entertainment Weekly, “I don't think it should be any sort of stunt casting. I think it would be more interesting to have this fresh, exciting face that Ted has never seen before and neither have people who watch the show.”
While Josh has revealed exactly what he would like to see from the writers when considering the role of the mother, he did also admit that he had no idea when How I Met Your Mother would end and who the mother is going to be, “It's kind of better for me not to know. It serves me to be a little more naïve and just play that truthfully,” he added.
How I Met Your Mother is currently in its eight season but there has been no confirmation whether this will be the final season or not. However, actor Neil Patrick Harris has admitted that he does not believe that there will be a season nine of How I Met Your Mother.
