There were a lot of confused faces this week, when it was announced that Ed Sheeran had been nominated for a MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) award. Not only were fans surprised by the decision but many people from the world of celebrity were also shocked, including Ed himself.
Ed Sheeran has been nominated in the Best U.K. Male category for the awards, which are set to take place in Liverpool on November 12. This shock nomination caused rapper Labrinth, who has been nominated for three MOBO’s to say, “I think it is a bit weird because Ed Sheeran doesn't make black music.”
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran himself took to his official Twitter account, where he posted a link to what Labrinth had said, along with the tweet, “I agree with that” and even many of Ed’s fans were equally as confused by the nomination.
Ed Sheeran has become one of the hottest property’s in music, since he burst onto the back in June 2011 with his hit single The A Team, which came from his album +. Since then, Ed has made many friends in the music but they will all agree that this MOBO nomination does not make sense.
