There has been a lot of talk about there being a standalone Deadpool movie but talk is all that there has been. Ryan Reynolds appeared as Deadpool aka Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine but fans were dubious about him returning to the role.

Now it has been confirmed that the Deadpool movie is now on track and is looking ever more likely to being made. This time it is not all talk, as Tim Miller, who is in line to direct the movie, has revealed that a script has been completed and development is looking good.
Miller explained, “We've turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development that--I'm confident--would get the fans stoked. And Ryan still loves the project. So it's really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happens--all I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead.”

While there is currently no real news about what the Deadpool movie will be about exactly, what is known is that Tim Miller will be directing the film, based on the screenplay that has been written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, while Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise the role of Deadpool.
