Campaign To Get Christian Bale To Visit Batman Colorado Victims Gathers Pace

A campaign that has spread through Facebook and Twitter is asking “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises” star Christian Bale to visit the victims of the Colorado theater shooting.

Supporters of the campaign are asking for Christian to make the trip in his Batman costume from Gotham City to visit children injured in the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting.

“All those kids in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds at the Batman massacre could use a visit from their real hero,” said a post on Facebook. “They need to know heroes can be real too, not just the bad guys.”

The campaign also picked up steam on Twitter, using the hashtag #BaleOutAurora.

It was unclear if Christian had heard of the campaign yet, but the actor has released a statement expressing his condolences to victims of the shooting.

“Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them,” Christian said.

Twelve people were killed in the midnight massacre and 58 were injured. It is not yet known how many of the injured are children.
