The CW are seriously on to a winner with their new DC television series Arrow, which has delighted fans and newcomers alike. While Stephen Amell has been fantastic as Oliver Queen so far in the series, he has admitted that he did not actually have any idea who Green Arrow was when he was growing up.
Stephen admitted that he was a big fan of Superman but knew absolutely nothing about Green Arrow. He told SFX, “I wasn't aware of Green Arrow as a kid. I loved Superman growing up. I saw a couple of those movies in the theatre, and I watched Superman II 8,000 times.”
However Amell has since done his homework and has learnt a lot about comic books and Green Arrow in particular. He added, “I'm a big fan of the genre, but most importantly I respect how passionate the fan base is. And I'm excited to interact with them more than I already have been.”
Arrow continues to air in the US every Wednesday night on The CW at 8/7c. Meanwhile, the show is set to premiere in the UK on Monday, October 22 at 8pm on Sky1.
